Funerals and Bereavements

Planning a Funeral for a loved one can be a difficult balance between carrying out any ‘wishes’ the deceased made known about his/her funeral, and providing a service which is meaningful for those who grieve.

We're here to help you in this difficult time, whether that be helping to arrange a funeral, memorial (please find more information below), or if you just need someone to talk to.

If you would like to get in touch please use the form below and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Graveyards and Memorial Applications

We have several graveyards under our management in the benefice, the most active being Cat Street Cemetery in East Hendred, West Hendred Cemetery, and All Souls Cemetery in East Lockinge.

When applying for a memorial you must first check that it falls within the guidance of the Diocese of Oxford, which you can find out about here. In East Hendred's cemetery, a few additional forms of memorial are permitted under our supplementary regulations which you can read here.

You’ll need to fill out this memorial application form and return it to our Administrator for approval. A stonemason or funeral director will be able to assist with this.

You will also pay a fee for the permit. These fees are set by the Church of England and can be found here.

If you have any questions please get in touch via the contact form above.
