Welcome!

Welcome to the Wantage Downs Benefice! We're a small but friendly Church of England benefice with four churches in the villages of Ardington, Lockinge, West Hendred and East Hendred.

We have a variety of services, groups and events every week including Sunday morning services, a weekly family service at St Augustine's, East Hendred and a monthly evensong at All Saint's, Lockinge.

We welcome everyone to our churches and would love to see you at one of our services. If you're new you may like to explore our newcomers page where you can find all sorts of information on our churches and what to expect in our services.

West Hendred PCC: Deadline Date is 26th April: Electoral Roll Officer: Sally Hutchinson

Ardington & Lockinge PCC: Deadline Date is 10th May: Electoral Roll Officer: Rose Baring

Please contact your Electoral Roll Officer if you have any queries and/or would like an Application Form sent to you.

Safeguarding

Our parishes are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSOs):

Angela Findley: East and West Hendred (safeguardingwhht@westhendred.net)

Rose Baring: Ardington and Lockinge (peterbaring@btinternet.com)

Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSOs.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO of the relevant parish (see above) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (Erica Hegg, 01865 208295, safeguardingreferrals@oxford.anglican.org).

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
